The soufflé pancakes live up to the hype!!! Definitely do not skip out on this extraordinary pancake experience. I'm still dreaming about it a week later. Make sure to get it with the berries compote for the best experience. The fried rice was meh; it was too salty probably from too much soy sauce. But it was filling. The CLG mixed drink was good. A hint of sweet and sour. Service was great, no complaints there! Btw, did I mention I'm still dreaming about the soufflé pancakes?!

Came here over memorial weekend, me and my partner came right when it opened and there was already a line. We waited in line for about 25 min before getting a chance to put our names in the waiting list. They said it would be about a 45 min wait but we actually got sweat about 20 min after so not too bad! We walked around the farmers market to kill some time beforehand. We got seated and started off ordering drinks: cold brew and pineapple juice which were both refreshing! For the mains I got the German pancake with a side of hashbrowns and gravy. The German pancake tasted like a mix of a fluffy pancake and a crepe, sooo yummy! The hashbrowns were nice and crispy and with the gravy, added great flavor. The chicken and waffles were also delicious, my partner was glad it came with an egg. As for service, the staff were kind and the vibes here were great!

For an environment, this cool with excellent food, expect a wait on the stairs leading up. My sister was in town for business, and we needed a good restaurant to hold her over because she wasn't sure when her clients were planning on eating later that day. We were staying at the old, tired Wyndham hotel with no room service, and I saw this restaurant on Yelp. I figured we'd walk, and it was a nice way to feel the environment. We didn't wait too long, especially when we asked for the bar seating that overlooked the stairs up. Sometimes, that was a little weird when people's heads popped up over the counter as they ascended, but that's the atmosphere. Fun. In a word. I premeditated the Breakfast Carbonara with a poached egg on top. My sister got a nice spin on the classic American breakfast with house bacon and TLC presentation. The coffee service was fantastic, too. Our server was personable and provided the best possible service despite the busy time of day. The food was exquisite. I don't say that often. The carbonara was expertly prepared, and the way they presented it was memorable. I liked the zanny decorations and Art Deco style architecture, as well. Overall, I'd be there often if I lived closer. I'd say plan on a leisurely meal. We had to extend checkout from the hotel, but that was easy and well-worth for the experience here alone.

Been wanting to check this place off my list for so long but with long wait time on the weekends, I was able to come on a weekday. I came on a Thursday at 10am and the wait was an hour long! Plenty of places nearby to grab a drink and hangout while you wait. Some items my friends and I ordered and shared - salmon carpaccio (instead of salad, we got English muffin bread) - khachupuri -Soufflé pancakes -dirty hashed browns I got a Paloma for a drink since they ran out of lychee for the lychee- loma. Overall, food was pretty good. Aesthetic and rooftop vibes 10/10. Very kind and attentive staff! If the wait wasn't so long on the weekends, I would be here more often!

Quirky decor -- pink theme with funky decor, like a giant eyeball, gaudy fixtures and accents, and a tablet to swipe left to flush in the bathroom. This place has character. They have the best breakfast, with an extensive menu ranging from souffle pancakes, to Turkish eggs, and Georgian bread topped with cheese, butter, and egg. We enjoyed the latter two. We saw a lot of souffle pancakes and Georgian breads come out. The pancakes looked very fluffy but also very wet (which they shouldn't be). We were happy with our selections though not so much with the price Tip: be prepared for a wait, even in a Monday morning. Weekends have a crazy wait, but you can put your name/number down and walk around the cute area, or grab a coffee across the plaza. Just make sure you finish it before heading back, as they will confiscate it!

Despite the popularity and reports of interminable wait, the food was actually quite affordable & wait time was minimal on a weekday morning. Wait: There was a line of people on the stairs, already checked in and awaiting their tables. You have to walk to the very top where there is a tablet displayed but the employee may be temporarily absent seating people. We ended up having no wait (this was 9AM on a Wednesday) because we were okay with a seat at the counter. Ambiance: We sat at the counter, which is basically outdoors. There was a strong breeze that made our food cold very quickly (this could have been a great experience on a warm day though). Fat pigeons kept flying in and out of the restaurant. They had zero fear & they flew so low that they almost ran into me multiple times throughout my meal. In hindsight, we should have waited for one of the indoor tables. Parking: We came on a Wednesday morning, fully forewarned by other Yelp reviews that street parking would be limited since many streets were closed due to the weekly Farmers Market. Street parking was VERY limited, but I found a free 2 hour spot about 0.5 miles away from restaurant. Supposedly there is a parking structure, but I have no idea how much that costs. Food: I could marry half my meal, and the other half I would request that no one ever order. There are a lot of other items on the menu I want to try though, so it may be worth another trip! - Khachapuri ($16): Must order. What a delicious blend of melted cheese (mozzarella, feta), runny poached egg, and chewy bread. There was a nice hint of garlic and butter. I never thought my diet was missing khachapuri, but actually I now see a need to regularly consume khachapuri. - Baked french toast ($15): Must order. The creme anglaise and berry compote were in perfect harmony & drizzled over crisp french toast with a custardy center. The dish was perfect. - Crispy hashed potatoes (2 for $6): False. Not crispy. The interior is just a blob of those shredded potatoes squashed together. The exterior looks so promisingly crisp, but when you bite into it, it is just the mushy interior that you taste. Also, it didn't really have flavor. I brought the second one home so I can air fry it to a more crunchy state and add ketchup. - Eggs benedict ($14): Skip this. The Canadian bacon is thin & not particularly tender. The bread is the thickness and texture of bagel, and I did not think particularly appropriate for eggs benedict. The egg was nicely poached & I liked the flavor of the hollandaise sauce. The side of queso potatoes was interesting. I really liked the queso sauce, but why did we get boiled potatoes? It would have been much better if the potatoes were roasted, so that the crunch of the potato could contrast better with the gooey queso and the gooey poached egg and hollandaise.

Needed to grab a bite to eat before I went to the airport. I grabbed an Uber from downtown here because it was highly reviewed. I got really lucky that I got in the door because it was completely crowded. I was seated within 15 minutes on the patio overlooking the plaza. My server was fabulous great personality very attentive even during a busy time . With the baked French toast and the dirty hashbrowns just because I wanted to see what that was all about. The French toast was to die for the French toast. Crumble on top with the caramel and raspberry flavors was incredible. There was absolutely no need whatsoever to put syrup on. It is always a good sign with French toast. The hashbrowns are on hashbrowns and the gravy on top was excellent Make a reservation and give this place a try you can't go wrong. as long as the line is not all the way down the stairs probably get seated in 20 minutes or less without a reservation.

Hands down, the best meal I had in San Diego. This place is one of a kind. There's a line out the door at all times, and we arrived 15 minutes before opening to make sure we could get a table right away. We were STILL seated at the bar! The bartender was incredible and shared with us some insight into Morning Glory and its umbrella company's restaurant group, which was super interesting to learn. The aesthetic of this place was unlike anything I'd seen before, you just have to experience it to understand. The menu is adorable, playing off of trends and it's hard not to smile while reading through it. We ordered the classic benny, the veggie scramble with a side of bacon, the souffle pancakes loaded, the morning glory spritz, and the spicy up your life (guava margarita). The only word is wow. First of all, the pancakes is an entire experience in itself - these things are fat and fluffy and tall and you're instructed to dig in right away before they deflate. The berries added on were so fresh and sweet. The veggie scramble was great because although it was a classic "basic" breakfast option, they beefed it up with fried chickpeas which made it an unforgettable meal. The bacon was potentially the best I've ever had - so thick and delicious. I truly have nothing but 5-star things to say about Morning Glory. TOTALLY worth the hype, the line, and everything in between.
